I really like the addition of Garza to the rotation and getting Kerry Wood back was a great deal, but I'm not sold the team as a whole. Dempster and Garza are solid. Zambrano is unreliable at this point in his career and the rest are average back of the rotation guys.

Vazquez is an interesting player. He followed the best season of his career with his worst (excluding his horrible rookie season). I think the NL East is a good situation for him, he was 4th in the CY Young his sole year with the Braves.

Re: 2011 MLB Predictions

The Vazquez comment drops your credibility... he will be kicked out of the rotation if not released by June. He is inconsistent and I think he will make mental mistakes that could cost them the game.

The Packers definitely have a chance against the Falcons. In Week 12, the Packers lost 20-17 against the Falcons in Atlanta. It was a field goal with 9 seconds left that put the Falcons over the top. The Packers have a great defense and they can score with anybody when Rodgers has it going.

I agree the Patriots are clearly the favorite and Tom Brady is definitely making an argument to not only be a Top 3 QB all-time, but to be the best ever if his career keeps going like it is now.

I do not feel obligated to pick teams I know won't win, as I already mentioned the Packers have a strong chance to make the Super Bowl. The Chiefs is probably my riskiest pick, but they play great at home, their rushing offense is tremendous, and they don't turn the ball over. As good as the Ravens defense is, I think they will be on the field for a long time and they have been notorious for being softer in the 4th quarter. The Ravens offense was inconsistent all season and if they are not on their A game, I see the upset coming.

Re: 2010 NFL Postseason Predictions

I can't see the Saints beating the Bears. As nice as it would be for a wild card to make it to the super bowl, that's not going to happen. Packers have no chance against the Falcons.

Patriots will definitely stay the favorite and I like their chance of winning. If they do in fact win, Tom Brady will be a top 3 QB of all time (Marino, Montana).

Also, the chiefs suck. Don't feel obligated to pick teams you know won't win (chiefs, packers), just to make the underdogs feel better.

Re: Top Five Current Rivalries in the NFL

It seems that way, especially with the Patriots. In the past the Cowboys were the bigger rivals, but with the emergence of the Phillies and Yankees, the Philly fans care more about beating New York in all sports and the New York about beating Philadelphia. Oh, also straight from Philadelphia - http://insidetheiggles.com/201...

Bears vs Packers is a big rivalry and would certainly make a top ten list, but top five I can't see it. Cowboys/ Redskins is also big, but I would rank Cowboys/Giants or Eagles over that rivalry. There were quite a few other rivalries that were considered as well.

Thanks for the comment!

Re: Top Five Current Rivalries in the NFL

eagles/giants? you have to be kdding me. i am from an area with many of both fans and this is not a rivalry. both team's fans care more about beating the cowboys.

also, true rivalries are so intense that it does not matter what the records of each team is. All that matters is that they are playing one another. With that said, the Bears/Packers rivalry is much more of a rivalry than all of these. Redskins/Cowboys rivalry was overlooked upon this list as well.

Re: 2010 MLB Predictions

Haha, whoops I predicted Seattle to win the division. It is going to be hard to see the Phillies lose prior to the World Series, but if any NL team is going to beat them I think it will be the Reds. Hope you're right on some of these! Hard to see the Phillies losing with their firepower from the top 3 starters, and if the offense wakes up, they could be unstoppable. I think the Rays / Rangers matchup could be the most interesting, I'd like to see either team win it all. I'm inclined to expect a rematch from last year, with the similar results. Yankees over Phils in 6.
Thanks for crediting the site for the photo by the way! I expected the Steelers to struggle early without Roethlisberger and then with him initially.

After two weeks, the Steelers are really showing me some things on defense. I agree they do have great talent.

Big Ben is a top 5 QB possibly, you can argue yes and you can argue no.

Lastly, 6 superbowls doesn't mean a thing about this season.
